Our Vision
Maturing the believer, and developing leaders, through the teaching of the word of God.
We communicate the Word through writing and speaking.
The Bible - We believe the Bible to be the only authoritative, infallible, inspired Word of God for all faith and conduct. 1 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12
God - We believe in one God who is eternally existent in three persons – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1-2; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30
Jesus - We believe Jesus was fully God and fully man. He died for the sins of the world and was resurrected to life. He is the only way for people to be saved from their sins. 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:3-4
Gifts of the Spirit - We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and the ministry of the Holy Spirit by which each believer is empowered to live a godly life. The Holy Spirit was sent to live within each born-again believer. Romans 8:13-14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-11
Fall of Man - We believe that people (Adam and Eve) were created in the image of God. As a direct result of their voluntary disobedience to God, every person that is born into this world enters with a sin nature. Genesis 1:26-31; 3:1-24; Romans 3:25, 5:12-21
Salvation - We believe that every person is born with a sin nature and is in need of salvation. Addressing this need, God sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross and take the punishment of sin for each person. Through Christ’s death, He became a substitute for every person who accepts Him as their Savior. John 3:1-18; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5
Water Baptism - We believe water baptism is an outward act of obedience that symbolizes the washing away of sins and the new life available in Christ. Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12
The Church - We believe the church is not a building or ministry, but the worldwide group of people whose faith is in Jesus Christ and who follow His teachings. 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 2:19-22
Sexuality - We believe that God created sex and governs sexual behavior by His Word. Sex is intended only within the heterosexual marriage relationship (Genesis 1:27-28; Hebrews 13:4). We believe that God created two distinct genders, and rejecting or altering that gender is a rejection of God’s design.
Eternal Judgment or Reward - We believe in the resurrection of both the believer and unbeliever to eternal life. The believer to the resurrection of life (Heaven) and the unbeliever to the resurrection of eternal judgment (Hell or the Lake of Firer). Matthew 10:28, 25:46, 25:21, John 5:28-29, John 14:1-4; Revelation 21:3-4, Mark 9:43-47; 2 Peter 2:4; Revelation 19:20, 20:10-15.
This book explains the three main text used in the New Testament to conclude that women cannot Pastor. In this book Pastor Matthew will dive deep into the context and historical setting of each of these text. On the surface, it appears that 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, “Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak”, is a direct Pauline command. Then there is, 1 Timothy 2:11-15, “Let a woman learn in silence with all submission”. Lastly, in I Timothy 3:1-2, Paul appears to write that only man are to be Bishops. Are these commands blanket statements made to every Church for every generation? Or are these commands specific situational commands that apply to specific churches? In this compelling must-read book, Pastor Matthew will explain the proper context of these commands and how they would apply to the church Today. While Pastor Bethany explains the challenges of being called but not empowered to do the work of Ministry.
